Internal Alterations and Steelwork in Eastville, Bristol

EastvilleJuly 20243 photos

Our internal alteration work in Eastville, Bristol involved opening up the layout between adjoining parts of an existing home. We carried out masonry alterations and steelwork, with temporary support in place during the construction stage.

Forming the opening between rooms

We removed sections of masonry to create the opening within the existing wall line. This changed the connection between the rooms while leaving the surrounding building fabric to be addressed in the later finishing stages.

Work inside an existing house brings the new layout together with the structure already there. Wall edges, ceiling junctions and services all form part of the area affected by the alteration.

Structural steelwork within the renovation

The work included steel beams across the opening and a connection beside the remaining masonry. Temporary props were still present at this point in the job.

Steelwork and temporary support are specific to the structural design of the property. We discuss that scope as part of planning an alteration, alongside access and the building work around it.

Moving towards the finishing stages

This stage established the opening, with exposed walls and ceiling edges still awaiting further work. It was a structural alteration in progress, before the room was ready for decoration.

We undertake internal building alterations and renovation work across Bristol, including projects where new openings change how existing rooms connect.
